What is Pediatric Palliative Care?
Here's what a parent has to say-
“Parenting a child with medical complexities is challenging, heartbreaking and joyful… all at the same time. Quality of life is at the heart of the decisions we make. The choice to include pediatric palliative care has been invaluable to our family. As part of our outstanding team, palliative care helps us make every day count. Over time we’ve come to understand that palliative care is not the beginning of the end – it is truly the beginning. The beginning of embracing choices, acceptance, and finding peace.” PACT Family
The Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a team of interdisciplinary clinicians with expertise in pediatric palliative care who add an extra layer of support to the care of children with serious illness and their families. Lauren Cramer, MSW, LICSW, and the PACT team, Honoring Choices Partners, have generously contributed an information fact sheet to our Resources section to share with the Honoring Choices Partner Network and the adults and families they help.
